Tuesday Night at Alumni


We celebrate the 4th of July with a fun, family friendly event packed with baseball and other fun activities. The Swamp Bats will be playing Vermont at 6:30 pm, followed by fireworks.

Keene Dove Release:
The beautiful White Dove Release will take place prior to the game!

Bounce House & Carnival Games: There will be a bounce house set up - $1.00 for 4 minutes along with other carnival games. (Cash only)


Merchandise:
Check out the merchandise area – there are some new and exciting items including awesome Swamp Bats swag, but we will have pop sockets, necklaces, and hats!

50/50 Raffle:

How about those 50-50 tickets?!  Some lucky ticket holder will get half the pot – watch out for players circulating among the fans selling arm lengths as well as single tickets.   Ribby tells us that he would check for a player with long arms if it were him!

Weather woes

Wednesday’s weather took a toll on the NECBL schedule.  An afternoon tilt between the Valley Blue Sox and Sanford was scrapped with the idea the rain would blow away and allow us to play our scheduled regular season finale. Then, the rain blew our start from 6:30 till 8 pm. Your Swamp Bats will open the gates at 6 pm. A win for Keene means a home playoff game.   There will be no charge for Fan Appreciation night.

As of Wednesday afternoon, Brandon Smith has set a league record or Runs Batted In, has set a team record for hits and going into Wednesday night, has 11 Home runs (tied for league-lead) and is batting 373 ! MichaelMcMahon of the Keene Sentinel and Swamp Bats manager Lyndon Coleman have brought up the idea that Brandon Smith should be the Most Valuable Player of the NECBL. That’s a heck of an idea. The Pride of Georgetown, Indiana Smith’s a heckuva player, a great ambassador for the Swamp Bats, did NOT miss a beat when he switched from 1st to 3 rd base and been a leader on the field and a great teammate. Plus, he is always smiling! This blog and your twitter maven* support Brandon Smith for NECBL Most Valuable Player. *Joe Fitzhenry tweets also. I don't mean to speak for him but, c'mon!
